LDS World General Conference

What a joy it has been the past couple of days to listen to General Conference. I look forward twice a year to hearing what modern-day prophets and leaders have to say to me. Some of the highlights I enjoyed were: being reminded about the importance of, and the eternal nature of the family. We are never released from the calling we have in our families. Pres. Packer reminded me of ongoing revelation in the church. God continually reveals his will to us through his prophets. He also reminded me of how blessed we are to have the scriptures. In fact, several speakers reminded me of how blessed we are to be able to search the scriptures for ourselves and to be able to gain a testimony of them for our own knowledge. Numerous speakers reminded me about the challenge Pres. Hinkley has given everyone to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. I have also taken up that challenge and I am enjoying the knowledge I am learning from reading it. Richard G. Scott, among others stressed that we can have peace, joy and happiness while on this earth, even though the rest of the world is in turmoil. Numerous speakers also bore testimony of the divine calling of Joseph Smith and the restoration of the gospel in this, the dispensation of the fullness of times. It is comforting to listen to Pres. Gordon B. Hinkley reminding me of the reality of repentence and our requirement to forgive others.
I have truely been uplifted and inspired to better myself and live worthy of returning to my Father in Heaven.
Life is truely Good
