Its cold season again
I had my yearly cold a little over two weeks ago. I was hoping it would be like last year where it didn't last very long at all. I tried taking vitamins, herbs and OTC meds, but alas, the telltail signs are still here. One year my cough lasted for 4 or more months. This time I finally went to the doctor and he said to try some antibiotics mostly because the cold seems to have hung on for so long. Unfortunately I have been taking them and haven't noticed any difference. So, now in the morning, in addition to the antibiotic, I take glucosamine, just in case it might help my arthritis in my knee and toes, I take prozac because it helps me cope with monthly hormonal changes, I take a multivitamin to make sure I get enough Vit D and folic acid, I take an anti-inflammatory med that really does help my arthritis, Allegra D (the pharmacist says it has an antihistamine and a decongestant in it) because my nose is still runny, a narcotic cough med (it slows the cough down but doesn't get rid of it), and sometimes a vit D and calcium supplement. Gee--I wonder why I can't think clearly.
Does anyone have me beat on pills or supplements they take?
