The Holiday season--one of joy?

I am at that time of year when I am so busy I can hardly stand it! It is the end of the semester at school, papers need to be corrected, and I have approximately a million to correct. OK, so I don't have a million students and all of the ones I have didn't turn in papers, but it sure seems like a million. Student papers are spread all over the kitchen table. We don't even have room to eat anymore. I work on the papers until I'm too tired to do anything else--including clearing the table, so it just stays a mess. And Ken hasn't even complained. The semester ends this week, so I'll just have to get it done and then it will all start over again. It seems like I just don't have time to do everything.
I will have missed 2 of the 4 performances our choir is in this year (on one I was preparing for a medical procedure, on the other is our family's Chritmas Party). I didn't really feel ready for the performances this year anyway. However, I did get to attend one of the performances last Friday and it turned out quite well. I actually enjoyed it. Next Sunday is our Messiah Sing-In. The Wasatch Master Chorale sings in the choir seats and the audience sings along.
The Pediatritians at the hospital decided they wanted Sunday Lactation coverage, so I get to work every 3rd Sunday again. It sure seems like that third week rolls around often. Today the person who was supposed to work Lactation was sick, so I filled in. However, that meant that I had to not do the NICU job I usually do on Tuesday. I also taught the breastfeeding class at ORMC tonight. I didn't get home until 10 p.m.
Fortunately, Ken is retired (again) so he has been taking care of cleaning the house and doing laundry. He even fixed dinner tonight (Papa Murphy Pizza).
Thanks for letting me vent--I feel better already.
On the bright side, I've lost 24.8 pounds and I'm within 0.8 pounds of my current goal. However, its been harder to stick to the diet lately. But surely I can lose 0.8 pounds this week!
I don't have a single Christmas decoration up. What do you think--should I put up a tree late? or just skip it this year? If I put it up, I'll just have to take it down in a couple of weeks anyway. Cari says she'll help, but she hasn't had time either. Does anyone else have decorations up?
