The Oprey Land Hotel

The Walking Vine

This hotel has gorgeous gardens, both indoor and out. I hate to think what it would cost to actually stay there.

Nashville Tennessee

We visited Nathan, Timber, Jaedin and Jenacy last week. We had a GREAT time. Nathan was only able to be there the first 2 days, then he had to go to work. The first day we went to the Tennessee State Fair. They had some great shows. Here are some pictures.

Jenacy feeding goats at the petting zoo at the fair

Jaedin won a ribbon for his water color painting of trees. Jenacy also won a ribbon.

Timber won a ribbon for her pencil drawing of her and Jenacy

There was a horse show. The horses were really quite beautiful. One had the main braided.

Jaedin's favorite was the bicycle tricks. Thats what he wants to do when he grows up now.

Turkey Stampede

Ken and I went to the Utah State Fair on Thursday. It is a tradition we have been carrying on for about 33 or 34 years or so now. We usually see one of the free shows, the booths and usually find a couple of things to buy. The free show we saw at first sounded kind of dumb, but it was hilarious. It was a turkey stampede. A middle aged couple had a bunch of turkeys and made a big show of which one might win the race etc.
Then the man started up a remote control truck and they let the turkeys out of the cage. They had bird feed in the back of the truck and the turkeys took off after the truck. As dumb as it sounds, it was hilarious to watch! As soon as the truck stopped the turkeys started gobbling the feed. Then the truck took off again and the turkeys took off after it. Then the woman said something along the lines of the most amazing thing was what a couple of middle aged people do for entertainment. Yes, it is amazing.
